Community Plant Exchange Report
Mount View Park (entrance at 100 Cadillac Ave.)
In the past MVCCA held a community plant exchange each spring. The idea is to bring some plants and to take some plants. If you have no plants to bring, this is an opportunity to get some. We usually had lots of ever-bearing strawberries, lupines, forget-me-not's, parsley, oregano, irises, and even seedlings.
It is an excellent opportunity to meet neighbours and let them know about the community association but we need volunteers to help out.

PLANTS EXCHANGE AND PARK SIGN DEDICATION
On April 25, 2015 Mt. View Colquitz Community Association hosted it's annual community plant exchange-- for the first time in Mount View Park. People from around the neighbourhood brought their extra healthy non-invasive plants to share and swap. This event was well attended fun for everyone, and was followed by the very special dedication of the new sign by the community garden.
This sign was designed by association steering committee members and Saanich parks staff and was to be paid for by the association. Featuring a photo and short history of Mount View High School, which formerly stood on the site of the Carey Campus of Care, it also situates Mount View Park relative to other Saanich parks, and provides information about the contents of the circular “community garden”.
Shortly before its installation, alumni of Mount View High School came forward with a series of donations to pay for the sign. The Association held the sign dedication in their honour. There was cake, and in spite of the rain, it was a good time.
