THE BURNSIDE BIKE PARK
731 Burnside Road W. - property donated to Saanich
Update Oct 2024 - still no word on possible use of 741 Burnside site.
Property to be used for a bike skills park adjacent to the trail and a preservation parcel in the northern section. Since the donation, Saanich Parks has been in discussion with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) regarding possible use of the adjacent property at 741 Burnside Road.
In November 2023, Mike Goldsworthy of Saanich Parks Dept. has indicated they are waiting to hear from MOTI about the use of any of 741 Burnside Road. The plan for the site will include, the upper half to be retained as nature preserve (after the death of the owner) and the section near the trail to become a bike park.
The next steps in the development of the youth bike skills park will commence once there is clarity regarding the possible use of 741 Burnside Road
“Opportunities for public input on the bike skills park will become available at saanich.ca as the project progresses”
